Engagement type: Strategic facilitation, culture and operating model design Client: Container Solutions Role: Design Thinking & Innovation Strategist
Container Solutions is a cloud native engineering consultancy helping businesses optimise cloud infrastructure. I joined at a moment when the company was growing quickly but lacked a clear, shared sense of direction internally.
There was no defined company vision, mission or value proposition. Teams and clients were operating from different mental models of what the company stood for. A new VP of Engineering had recently joined and needed a stable, aligned team behind them. Engagement quality with clients was inconsistent — leading to shorter client relationships than the work merited.
I designed and facilitated the process to define the company's vision, mission, values and value proposition — not by writing them myself, but by building the workshops needed to surface the right thinking from within the business and create genuine alignment around it.
I built an engineering consultant training programme to raise the quality and consistency of client engagement. I facilitated departmental alignment workshops to support the incoming VP of Engineering, and delivered executive-level frameworks for OKRs, strategic planning and people management.
The company had, for the first time, a clear and shared foundation — values, vision and operating frameworks that aligned clients, teams and leadership. The training programme drove repeat and longer-term client work. The VP of Engineering's team achieved 100% retention through the transition period.
Note: I was locked out of systems when I left this role, so supporting assets from this engagement are limited.
