Engagement type: Product & UX leadership, operational stabilisation Client: DC Byte Role: Product & UX Director

The Context

DC Byte is a data centre analytics platform serving the world's largest operators, owners and developers globally. I joined as Product and UX Director — but the scope of the role expanded significantly when a co-founder exited the business unexpectedly, leaving a critical operational gap at a pivotal growth stage.

The Challenge

The business had no product roadmap, no design system, no cross-functional operating model, and no hiring infrastructure. The team was destabilised. Client delivery was slow. And the product was underpriced and undervalued relative to the market opportunity.

What I Did

Rather than staying within my original remit, I stepped into broader operational leadership — stabilising the team, restructuring roles, and building the systems needed to run the business at scale.

In parallel I conducted structured product discovery to identify gaps in the offering, defined the company's first product roadmap, and introduced a subscription tiering strategy to protect revenue and drive new sales. I redesigned the UX for the core analyst user group, overhauled the UI, and implemented the company's first design system.

I also built hiring and training frameworks from scratch, and established cross-functional ways of working across APAC, EMEA and the Americas.

The Outcome

The analyst team doubled in under two months. Client data delivery improved by 40%. The product strategy I defined unlocked over £1M in additional revenue. The business stabilised, retained its team, and had the operational and product foundations in place to continue scaling.
